Materials & Codes
Most fence projects start with one of three needs: privacy from a neighbor's window, a secure yard for a dog or kids, or a fence that actually matches the age of the house instead of fighting it. We walk the property line first, check what your locality allows for height and setback, and work backward from there instead of showing up with one pre-set style.
Pressure-treated pine is the budget option and still holds up well here if it gets sealed on schedule. Cedar looks better on its own and resists rot naturally, at a higher price. Vinyl and aluminum cost more up front but need almost nothing from you afterward, and if the fence has to meet pool-safety code, aluminum or ornamental styles are usually the ones that qualify since solid privacy panels typically don't. Exact requirements vary by locality; we confirm them during the walkthrough.
